10/2/2017

Going through some crazy times! Lots of changes and things happening! I'll be more implicit in later posts, but for now just know I have a ton of stuff going on, but I plan on releasing new episodes of Moist Definitely every week on Tuesday!

October 2017 is going to be an insane month for me. As of writing this, I have to record a podcast tonight, I might do a show Tuesday, I have Canton Brew Works on Wednesday and again on Saturday doing a Showcase set, and my wife and a few friends are going to be going to a WWE PPV event Hell in a Cell on Sunday night. Podcast for the following week for release on Tuesday, then CBW again and the following week of 10/22-10/27 I'll be in Las Vegas for DevLearn, my second tech conference of this year. It'll be cool to see some of the speakers like Levar Burton and see what new and exciting things we're trying to do with learning and technology.

Last night there was also a tragedy in Las Vegas. A mass shooter shot and killed 50 people and injured 200 others at a Country Music Festival. I've been reading up on it and not really sure what officially is going on with a lot of it, but what the fuck is going on on our planet anymore? I never understand taking of life in general, but to do it on a mass scale and ruin so many lives is something I don't understand. It always fascinates me when this stuff happens, as I think it does with most people. We want to understand why or what drove him to do the things he did, but from what I've read so far, he didn't show signs, and they still don't know what the motive is. The only hope is he wrote some sort of psychotic memoir journaling what he was going to do and why, and even in the end we don't have the answer or know for sure.

I don't know for sure what we need or what this planet needs, but I know for sure we aren't going to find it if we continue with this endless cycle of "this is a tragedy" talk and rhetoric of bullshit and politics. I don't care what your stances are and what you think is right and wrong anymore. We need to move away from things that divide us and find common ground. We need to really make a push and understand that mental health is something that we don't fully understand and we need to make some head way in the direction of healing as a whole. I'm not saying I know exactly what that means, but all of this crying over spilled milk needs to stop. It's time to shit or get off the pot. Do something bold and reach out and help someone. Instead of looking at our world as garbage, let's work on making the society we want and expect. We have all of this ability and power and more connectivity than ever, yet we let it divide us and make us more split than ever. And I don't know about you, but the society I envision is one of acceptance and equality all around, and not in the white washing way. My opinions mean no more than any other person based on their race, sex, religion etc.. We need to learn how to be humble and understand we aren't all experts on every thing that happens, and we don't need to be.  The more we work together the more we can achieve. Being divided only benefits those in power.

But again, I don't know the answers any more than you do. The difference is I'm willing to work with you to figure it out, and we could all use a little more acceptance and understanding. The people you're talking about are human, just like you. They have a life, a family, friends.
